Enough is Enough. Pack up the troops and bring ‘em home!

Approaching this Memorial Day Weekend it was announced that sadly the casualty count of U.S. soldiers that have died in Afghanistan is now over 1,000 – AN ILLEGAL AND FUTILE WAR in its 9th year. A war in a country commonly known as the “Graveyard of Empires.” Add to that, the number of wounded in action is over 5,500, while the number of medically evacuated due to injury or disease is over 9,400.
Total U.S. casualties Afghanistan as of 4/13/10 is over 15,900.
The Iraq war, now entering into the 7th year, claims the lives of over 4400, and records indicate wounded in action close to 32,000, and a third category of medically evacuated due to injury or disease of close to 39,000.
Total U.S. casualties Iraq as of 4/13/10 is over 75,000.
We must also realize this figure doesn’t include the number of wounded
that must be cared for, nor the ones who suffer emotionally and
psychologically.
It is reported that 300,000 vets have mental problems and 320,000 vets
have brain injuries. These figures are U.S. troops from Iraq and
Afghanistan.
Reportedly there are 18 vet suicides per day – many occur after learning
they are going to re-deploy back to Iraq and Afghanistan war zones. The
number of soldiers deployed twice or more to war zones is a staggering
831,169 as of 4/13/10.
These figures do not include the casualties of innocent men, women and
children in either of these countries, which number in the millions. Nor
does it include the number of births – children that are seriously deformed
and defected because of the lethal weapons that employ nuclear material
used in fighting these wars. Viewing photographs of these deformities will
literally make you sick at your stomach. But look we must. We no longer
can or should support these wars of aggression for our sake and the sake of
all other countries fighting alongside our men and women.
Below is a memo from Ray McGovern to Congressman David Obey as it
appears at Antiwar dot com. The recent war budget sugar coated
with money for teachers is classic mode of operandi. It speaks volumes as
the folks on The Hill continue to line the pockets of the global elite who
always fund both sides of the war, and show little concern for human lives.
I would challenge all of you to follow Ray McGovern’s lead and ask that you
take the time this Memorial Day, in honor of those serving and those who
have served this country, to write to your congressmen/women and tell
them ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Pack up the troops and bring ‘em home!

MEMORANDUM FOR: Congressman David Obey
FROM: A Former Admirer
SUBJECT: Ducking the Challenge
“We can sit, frozen in our own indifference, as President Roosevelt once
said…” That’s what you said yesterday in connection with saving teachers’
jobs. Sadly, it also applies — in spades — to saving lives in an unnecessary
war.
It is amazing how you’ve changed, Dave, in the 25 years since you told then-
Secretary George Shultz from your subcommittee chairman seat, “I did not
take an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States
until I got tired.” (As you’ll recall, Shultz had made the mistake of saying, in
effect, screw the law; the American people are tired of hearing about Iran-
Contra.)
Now we are supposed to feel sorry for you because you say you are too
“bone tired” to do your duty to defend the Constitution as it continues to be
undermined by an illegal and futile war in Afghanistan in which over 1,000
American soldiers have already died.
Have you made your colleagues aware of the unconscionable fact that little
thought has been given to the need to appropriate hundreds of billions
more to care for those wounded in battle? Even now, most of our veterans
are already being treated shabbily. You know that.
You recently told a TV interviewer you thought the war in Afghanistan was
a “fool’s errand.” But you then added quickly that, if we are to pursue this
errand, it must be fully funded. You are smart enough to know there is no
logic in that.
Two important things happened yesterday:
1-You made it clear that your “chairman’s mark” on the supplemental that
provides for $33 billion more for the war will be augmented by the lipstick
of $23 billion for teachers’ jobs in what you plan to send forward from
Appropriations.
2-You refused to meet with former Iraq War veteran Josh Stieber to hear
how the Pentagon’s “rules of engagement” have brutalized our own soldiers
— not to mention countless Iraqis and Afghans. Stieber’s two-week attempt
to get a few minutes of your time was given the cold shoulder — even
though he spent from 8:15 AM to 6:30 PM yesterday in the Rayburn
building.
You owe the Josh Stiebers of our armed forces big time. We all do. You
must not have taken the time to view “Collateral Murder,” the Army gunbarrel video showing American troops killing Iraqi civilians in a turkeyshoot on July 12, 2007 during the “surge” in Baghdad. In blowing off Josh Stieber (who was in that unit), you also blew off the 100,000 of his former buddies already in, or headed to, Afghanistan. Thousands of those will have their lives destroyed, in one way or another, with the help of $33 billion more for what you, in a candid moment, called a “fool’s errand.”
A sad irony here is that when you came to Congress, you helped end the
Vietnam War by cutting off funding. Another sad reality is this: I know that
you know that Afghanistan is another Vietnam — only more feckless.
Sadder still is the fact that you are unwilling to tell your colleague about Joe
McCarthy and scare tactics — whether they are about communists or
terrorists. And it is both profoundly sad, and highly ironic, that Joe
McCarthy’s demagoguery was what prompted you to get involved in
politics.
Not all that hard to do, I suppose — I mean, to give President Obama the
wherewithal to fund the war rather than wind it down. After all, your sons
will not have to go; nor will any of your neighbors in the 22207 zip-code
area of Arlington. Neither will the sons of your colleagues in Congress. Our
“professional army” is a poverty draft, and you know it. “Preferential option
for the poor” be damned.
In my mind’s eye I can see a long line of people, once proud of you, now
wondering what has happened. I don’t mean only La Follette, who of course
didn’t know you, but after whom you have styled yourself. No, I mean
people who did know you and once admired you: people like Sister
Margaret, Sister Tecla, John Francis Dearden, Tom Gumbleton. And people
like me.
When “heartland progressives,” as you call yourself on the cover of your
book, get “bone-tired,” that is precisely the time when they should stick to
their principles and go out fighting. What, in God’s name, have you got to
lose?
Call me an “idiot liberal,” if you will. I’ll refrain from name-calling —
although quite a few come to mind. I just want to register my profound
disappointment at, and inability to understand, the Faustian bargain you
appear to have struck, as well as my grief over the lives that will be lost and
damaged as a result.

It’s way past time to bring our kids home.
Your welcome, Helen. I consider it an honor to write the post and am thankful for your graciousness to give it the attention it needs .
Where so many of us feel such helplessness in this situation, with the keyboard and the Internet we can become mighty warriors.
I will have more mind boggling information to post on these two wars soon. Information that is critical to identifying exactly who is behind instigating these useless wars of aggression and hopefully enlightening a few on why we must stand up to those using our men and women for their political and personal gain. Human lives mean nothing to those pushing these agendas. Our soldiers are being used as mere pawns in a game. Thankfully many soldiers are becoming more and more aware and are beginning to confront the issue.
I ran across an article (link below) while researching the stats for my post written back in 2006 titled “Active-Duty GIs Call for Withdrawal.” At that time more than 100 soldiers were seeking protection under the Military Whistleblower Protection Act. It would be interesting to see those figures now. We are all aware of the legal cases filed since “O” has taken office of military men/women that question his legitimacy to hold office. These messages from our military must continue – louder and stronger.
The American people must support this movement for our troops, not only by proudly displaying yellow magnetic ribbons on their vehicles or flying Old Glory in front of their homes, but by seeing these wars for what they truly are and by coming to grips with why they began, how they began and why they continue. This will not be easy for some. I know it wasn’t for me. It goes against every bit of indoctrination and disinformation fed to us by the media – even the Faux News media. But now, my understanding couldn’t be clearer. And, it is only when we all reach that point of clarity can we all begin to effect a change.

I was talking to my husband last night about this massive aid relief effort and the dangers these brave folks are facing. I also secretly wished I could be making that journey with them. I have to settle for a virtual journey. An important point that stands out for me is Turkey’s involvement.
Madsen was invited to Turkey a few weeks back by the government. Turkey has committed to exposing and outing the corrupt “Deep State” within their own government. I silently dreamt the United States followed their lead. The parties involved in Turkey’s Deep State are the same parties that have successfully infiltrated other countries, including the United States. One of those major players is Israel. The U.S. and Britain are involved, as well. That’s why I believe this freedom flotilla is so important. Does it provide a sort of catharsis for Turkey? No matter, the message it sends to Israel is a strong one. How it plays out is critical.
Turkey is also taking a stand against Israel’s false accusations that Iran has nuclear weapons. They have offered to be part of a peaceful solution – a compromise – to Israel’s demands as spoken through the mouth piece of Hillary – that they will only be happy when severe sanctions are imposed. True happiness will come when the eventual military attacks are launched. In the meantime, the United States, remains their one true lackey. Never mind that Israel has for many years had a massive arsenal of nuclear weapons and openly REFUSES to play by the rules of International law.
You see, the rules apply to everyone else but Israel. How is it this tiny, but militarily well-equipped murderous country is able to continue these horrific crimes against humanity? Is it possible because they are bathed in the propaganda of “divine holiness?” Surely, as Christians, we aren’t so blind as to not see this criminal behavior of the government of a country that’s been touted as perhaps the “holiest place in the world” does not reflect on the teachings of Christ. That’s a question for you to ponder.

While all those weapons are created and owned by this government, they are harmless without people willing to use them.
Those who send us to war do not have to pull a trigger, or lab a mortal round. They don’t have to fight the war, they merely have to sell the war.
They need a public who is willing to send their soldiers in the harm’s way. They need soldiers who are willing to kill and be killed without question.
They can spend millions on a single bomb, but that bomb only becomes a weapon, when the ranks of the military are willing to follow orders to use it.
They can send every last soldier anywhere on earth, but there’ll only be a war, as soldiers are willing to fight.
And the ruling class, the billionaires who profit from human suffering care only about expending their wealth controlling the world economy.
Understand that their power lies only in their ability to convince us that war, oppression and exploitation is in our interest.
They understand that their wealth is dependent on their ability to convince the working class to die to control the market of another country.
And, convincing us to kill and die is based on their ability to make us think that we are somehow superior.
Soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, have nothing to gain from this occupation. The vast majority of people living in the U.S. have nothing to gain from this occupation.
In fact, not only do we have nothing to gain, but we suffer more because of it.
We lose wings, and bear trauma and give our lives. Our families have to watch flag draped coffins rolling into the earth.
Millions in this country without health care, jobs or access to education, just watch over this government squander of a $450 million a day in this occupation.
Poor and working people in this country are sent to kill poor and working people in other country and make the rich richer
Without racism we realize that we have more common with the Iraq people than we have with billionaires that send us to war.
We need to wake up and realize that our real enemy is not the ones living in a distant land the people whose names we don’t know and cultures we don’t understand.
The enemy is people we know very well and people we can identify.
The real enemy is a system that wages war when it’s profitable.

DEATH TOLL ON ISRAELI ATTACK ON GAZA FREEDOM FLOTILLA NOW AT 20
The death toll from the Israeli navy’s takeover of a Gaza aid convoy has risen to 20 while Israel carefully censors reports on the casualties from the attack.
At least 20 people were killed in the takeover of the Gaza aid convoy, a Press TV correspondent reported, saying that more than 50 people were also wounded in the attack.
The attack came on Monday morning after one of the six ships in the convoy was hit by Israeli navy forces before being stormed by commandos descending from helicopters.
The interception reportedly took place in international waters, more than 150km (90 miles) off the coast of Gaza.

Have we seen Hillary, our Secretary of State, come out and confront the situation and join other European countries calling for an investigation? NO.

I’ve been up the greater part of the night following the live feed of this massacre. I was just sick at my stomach and my heart ached watching it unfold.
I finally napped a couple of hours and returned to the key board. I’m still sick at my stomach.
Read the AJ article I just posted a link to. Israel is claiming they were fired upon which provoked their reactive massacre.
It’s time the Jews join the rest of the world declaring the end to these thugs who have dominated and exploited their world and then our world for far too long. The day I witness Jews standing up for Jews and the rest of the people is the day I’ll know we have, as a people, at last turned a corner toward a new day.

I watched the entire thing unfold on live feed cameras. A picture is worth a thousand words. They can spin it all they want. There is no denying what these thugs did. There were journalists aboard this ship reporting in real time.
Most of the people were asleep when the attack occurred. They were far enough out in international waters to not be as concerned. They jammed their communications and had commandos dropping down from helicopters with weapons. Then they open fire on the passengers, some in their slumber. I can’t get that image out of my mind.
These are the real terrorists. I’m sad to say this, but perhaps this is what it took for the UN to call Israel on their sh** AND for “O” to perhaps break Bibi’s stranglehold on this administration.
I’ll guarantee you this won’t go away quietly. I, for one, will not let it.

UNSC Begins Emergency Meeting Over Israeli Raid – Gaza Freedom Flotilla
The United Nations Security Council has kicked off its emergency meeting on the deadly Israeli raid against the Gaza-bound Freedom Flotilla.
The UNSC started the session on Monday after Turkey urged a meeting over the brutal killing of activists in international waters by Israeli forces, AFP reported.
The meeting was called by Lebanon’s ambassador to the UN, Nawaf Salam, who currently holds the presidency of the Security Council.
Lebanon and Turkey are both rotating non-permanent members of the UNSC.
The Tel Aviv regime is facing a wave of international condemnation over the raid on the Freedom Flotilla aid convoy, which was carrying thousands of tons of humanitarian supplies to the impoverished people of Gaza.
Palestinian sources say at least 20 activists were killed and 50 others were injured during the attack.
An unnamed diplomat told Reuters that council members were hoping to adopt a statement voicing their anger at the incident and possibly backing UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s call for an investigation into the bloody assault.

“President-elect Obama stayed silent when, back in December of 2008 and January of 2009, Israel declared war on the Palestinian people of the Gaza Strip prison camp. (In my view that was a demonstration of naked Israeli state terrorism). As I write from America, with the drama and implications of Israel’s murderous attack on the Gaza Flotilla still being played out, I find myself wondering if President Obama will have the balls to say to Israel, “Enough is enough”.
He would not dare to say that in those words, but he could break with precedence by refusing to veto a Security Council resolution condemning Israel.
Will he do so?
We shall see.
If he does authorize a veto, it will be time for even those of us who invested some good faith in him to conclude that he is the prisoner of the Zionist lobby and its stooges in Congress and, more to the point, a prisoner with no hope of escape.

Go instead directly to the local offices of US Senators and Representatives, stay until you speak personally to the senior person there, and make your case as forcefully as you can. Make sure as many people hear you as possible — but be polite, and leave your signs at home….

United Nations » Israel faced heavy criticism in an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council on Monday in response to its deadly attack on an aid flotilla trying to breach the Gaza blockade, but attempts to issue a formal statement stalled after the United States rejected the strong condemnation sought by Turkey.
Turkey proposed a statement that would condemn Israel for violating international law, demand a U.N. investigation and demand that Israel prosecute those responsible for the raid and pay compensation to the victims. It also called for the end of the blockade.
The Obama administration refused to endorse a statement that singled out Israel, and proposed a broader condemnation of the violence that would include the assault of the Israeli commandos as they landed on the deck of the ship.
While condemnation of Israel in the Security Council is not uncommon, the criticism at the emergency session by Turkey and Lebanon was notable for both its vehemence and for the broad array of countries demanding an independent investigation into the decision to fire on civilians in what they described as a humanitarian mission.
Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu of Turkey, whose country’s once close relations with Israel have deteriorated markedly since Israel’s invasion of Gaza in 2008, called the attack “tantamount to banditry and piracy; it is murder conducted by a state.”

But I’m even more outraged that once again, Israel’s actions have been aided and abetted by a U.S. political class that has become corrupted beyond belief due to its reliance on Zionist finance and penetration by Zionist zealots for whom no U.S. weapons system is too much for the Israeli war machine, and the silence of the world’s onlookers whose hearts have grown cold with indifference.
I recently visited the offices of IHH, the Turkish humanitarian organization that sponsored one of the Freedom Flotilla boats, and that was targeted by the Israelis for its murderous rampage. Reports are still coming in as to the full extent of the senseless Israeli violence. Of course, I expect Israel’s apologists in the press and in the United States government to shift into high gear to support Israel’s lying machine. TAKE NOTE OF THEIR NAMES!!! (emphasis mine)

Liberty innocents on the high seas, while in international waters, has now been visited upon the participants in the Freedom Flotilla, in large measure because of the Congressional- and Presidential-level cover-up of the 1967 Israeli attack on that U.S. surveillance ship. Combined with the failure of just about every other effort to hold Israel accountable for its crimes against humanity, war crimes, genocide, and crimes against the peace. Belgium and Spain changed their domestic laws of universal jurisdiction after Israeli appeals to do so. The entire musical chairs gang of rotating Israeli leadership are war criminals. During my imprisonment in Israel for attempting to take crayons to the children of Gaza, I called Israel a failed state. If Israel is threatened by unarmed, humanitarian activists to the point of massacring them, then Israel is a failed state. Israel is a failed nuclear state.
Obama’s most recent granting of an additional $205 million for Israeli “missile defense” is unconscionable, when in the same week, reports revealed for the first time, Israel’s offer of nuclear weapons to apartheid South Africa. Just last week, a paper bearing the signature of former Israeli Prime Minister, Shimon Peres, was released by South Africa, revealing that in 1975, Israel could offer South Africa nuclear weapons “in three sizes.” South Africa’s then-Minister of Defense, P.W. Botha, was South Africa’s signatory to the letter. This information would make the entire Obama Administration look sadly farcical as it points an accusing finger at Iran, except that U.S. obeisance to the Israeli bloodthirst is deadly serious. With deadly outcomes.
Earlier this month, Israel was granted admission to the Organization of Economic and Community Development (OECD), a direct affront to ongoing Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) efforts across the world. Once again, Israel has thumbed its nose at the global community–with bloody results–because it can.
I am proud to serve on the Bertrand Russell Tribunal on Palestine. Its next sitting will be in London, where we will examine corporate complicity in Israel’s crimes against Palestine. The Tribunal will sit from November 5 – 7. Please put this on your calendar. We all must do what we can, where we are to end wars against the people at home and wars against human rights abroad.
Finally, a friend just sent a message to me saying that the Israelis had lost their minds. Sadly, based on the past, the Israelis could very well conclude that they can do anything–imprison me for trying to take love to the children of Gaza and kill humanitarian activists trying to do the same–because they know, in the end, they’ll get away with it. Instead, I would suggest that we are the ones who have lost our minds, our souls, our spirits, and our human dignity if we allow the Israelis to get away with murder–again–and we do nothing.
I am calling on the people of the United States to change course now.
On this Memorial Day 2010, I am stunned and outraged beyond belief while mourning the dead of the Freedom Flotilla to Gaza.

(CNN) — As many as nine Americans may have been aboard the Gaza relief flotilla attacked by the Israeli military, and are now being held by Israeli authorities, a State Department official said Monday.
The official, who had no details about their identities, conditions or whereabouts, said U.S. consular officials were expecting to interview the Americans on Tuesday.
Separately, Jonathan Slevin, a spokesman for the activist group Free Palestine Movement, said a group of five Americans participated in the flotilla, including former U.S. Ambassador Edward Peck.
Slevin said the Americans boarded a ship called the Sfendoni in Athens, Greece. He said there had been no communication with the Americans since the flotilla was intercepted by the Israelis.

Greta Berlin said the Free Gaza Movement, which organized the flotilla, would not be deterred and that another cargo boat was off the coast of Italy en route to Gaza. A second boat carrying about three dozen passengers is expected to join it, Berlin said. She said the two boats would arrive in the region late this week or early next week.

WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, HOW AND WHY…
Now that we’ve all identified “WHO” has control of our government, I thought it would be a good time to post a bit of information that provides some insight as to a part of “HOW” it happened. The “WHAT” and “WHY” is understood by now, isn’t it?
The “HOW” clearly involves money. Lots of money that can buy politicians.
Here’s how the fund raising for elections here in the United States REALLY works. In Jeff Gates’ book, Guilty by Association, he writes about something called Diaspora-based fundraising which is used by the Israeli Lobby. Interestingly enough John McCain’s/Russ Feingold’s reform of campaign finance law was a “perfect fit” for this method. I realize that reform bill was repealed since the book was written. Nonetheless, it’s important to see the sophisticated system/method that was used and how it impacted the elections.
Gates shows how the McCain/Feingold campaign finance “reform” bill doubled the funds candidates could receive WITHOUT regard to WHERE THEIR SUPPORTERS RESIDE. The cap on contribution amounts was raised per couple for both the primary and general elections. This was great for the Israeli Lobby (AIPAC) and here’s why. Say you could have a candidate in Montana that has only a handful of pro-Israeli constituents. Looked upon as an asset, this candidate can now be used, coerced, or influenced to support Israeli policies by a NATIONWIDE network of pro-Zionists. They simply flash some cash in front of him/her promising the max amount of contributions to that campaign when given the green light to do so. If these candidates bite the Zionists’ hook, they then proceed to the next level in AIPAC’s process.
Directly quoting from Gates’ book, “…Candidates are summoned for in-depth interviews by the Israel lobby – AIPAC. Those found sufficiently committed to AIPAC’s agenda are provided a list of donors who can be relied on to “max out” their campaign contributions.”
Gates goes on to explain the next step in the process of how “Bundlers” get to work and are able to easily raise funds for these candidates – pulling from what sounds like a sizable “directory” of people in places like Manhattan, Miami, Beverly Hills, Chicago or California. He says any experienced AIPAC-identified “bundler” should be able to raise $1 million for a candidate by contacting 10 friends in the Diaspora, who then contact 10 of their friends and so on. (FYI: a Diaspora is any movement of a population sharing common national and/or ethnic identity.) Not surprisingly any AIPAC endorsed candidate could, with one phone call, end up with a campaign fund flush with money NOT from “concerned constituents” but from AIPAC bundler’s network of which many may never have set foot in that state. “This process ensures Tel Aviv even more power over U.S. policy-making,” according to Gates. Constituents and America be damned.
“No one knows the full impact of this political operation over the past six decades,” says Gates. But one thing is certain – pro-Israeli elites and Jewish fundamentalists have greater influence over election results in EVERY state and Congressional district as a result of McCain’s “reform.”
Gates says, “from Tel Aviv’s perspective, the political leverage is leveraged yet again because fewer than 10% of House races (typically 35-50 Congressional districts) are competitive in any election cycle. That makes the long-term leverage even greater for those – such as AIPAC – motivated to sustain this financial focus over multiple cycles.
According to the publication, “Jewish Achievement, 42% of the largest political donors to the 2000 election cycle were Jewish.
Makes you feel kinda silly thinking back that McCain was following the campaign finance rules and running a “poor man’s” campaign with limited funds against “O’s” outlandish donor base.
In January of this year, many of the laws from the McCain/Feingold Act were repealed by The Supreme Court. After learning more about how the McCain/Feingold Act worked, it is very clear it worked in favor of the pro-Zionists. Looks like the bundlers of the Diaspora network will have to get cracking earlier in the game to expand their “directory” of donors since they’ll now be competing with monies from corporations, unions and other special interest groups.
One of the silly “rules” repealed was this: “The regulation under “M/F Act” essentially made you a criminal, sent you to jail, if you so much as mentioned the name of a candidate 60 days before a primary election.”

After WMR’s interviews with a number of White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel’s political opponents in Chicago, a picture emerges of President Obama’s closest aide that is one of a person groomed and blackmailed by major corporate interests.
In Emanuel’s four races for the 5th Illinois Congressional District in Chicago, he spent relatively little of his own money, including the millions made as a Chicago executive for the Wall Street investment firm Wasserstein-Perella, in a largely blue-collar district that appears to be as alien to Emanuel’s personal concerns as the streets of Gaza.
In the 2002 Democratic primary, during which Emanuel’s opponents accused him of being a dual loyalist for Israel and a carpetbagger, Emanuel’s campaign was mainly funded by Hollywood Jewish contributions. Emanuel’s brother, Ari Emanuel, is a powerful Hollywood agent.

However, Emanuel did funnel plenty of campaign money from his own political action committee to what was described as “local interests” in Chicago, as well as the campaigns of other Democratic candidates. Essentially, Emanuel’s PAC acted as a huge political money laundering machine, buying off the loyalty of Chicago area Democrats.
Emanuel also abused his congressional franking privileges to send out campaign literature. One of his election challengers said, “he [Emanuel] used his franking privileges as an incumbent for mass-mailed ‘newsletters’ — thinly-veiled promotional materials talking about the latest wonderful thing he did for some isolated individual.”
In 2002, Emanuel was so unknown in the 5th District, which had been previously represented by Rod Blagojevich, who became Governor, people thought because of his appearance that he was an “Arab.” Emanuel’s father, Benjamin, is an Israeli immigrant and a veteran of the Jewish terrorist organization, Irgun Zvai Leumi.
One of Emanuel’s GOP opponents commented that “no one in the district really knew Emanuel . . . the only thing they really knew about was his use of four letter words.” Another election opponent said, “Rahm was able to buy his election at bargain-basement prices, and have a huge war chest left over for whatever comes next.”
WMR has recently learned that while a member of the House, a major Democratic strategist and lobbyist rented Emanuel his Washington, DC condominium at below market rates. Emanuel reportedly used the condominium for trysts with his homosexual partners in Washington while Emanuel’s family remained at their home in north Chicago. The Democratic strategist in question is also a top lobbyist for BP.

ISRAELI LAWMAKER: NO ARMS ON THE FREEDOM FLOTILLA
A member of the Israeli Parliament (Knesset) who was onboard the Gaza-destined aid convoy when it came under Israeli fire dismisses allegations that the Freedom Flotilla was carrying weapons.
Haneen Zuabi, a senior member of the Balad party, was among hundreds of activist aboard the Freedom Flotilla, which was comprised of nine ships carrying thousand of tons of humanitarian aid for the impoverished people of the Gaza Strip.
In comments following her release in the Ashdod port on Wednesday, Zuabi disputed Israel’s claims that the ship was carrying weapons for the Palestinian Resistance Movement of Hamas.
“Our goal was to break the siege. We had no plans for a confrontation. Israel carried out a provocative military operation. Israel is used to doing as it pleases with the Palestinians. The main problem is not the ship, but the siege.” She added.
On Monday, commandos acting upon direct orders from Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak stormed the aid convoy, leaving at least 20 people dead and more than 50 others injured.
The member of Knesset also said that Israeli forces were seeking to leave behind a high number of casualties…

WAR CRIME OR MURDER – GAZA FREEDOM FLOTILLA MASSACRE

“A word on the legal position, which is very plain. To attack a foreign flagged vessel in international waters is illegal. It is not piracy, as the Israeli vessels carried a military commission. It is rather an act of illegal warfare.
Because the incident took place on the high seas does not mean however that international law is the only applicable law. The Law of the Sea is quite plain that, when an incident takes place on a ship on the high seas (outside anybody’s territorial waters) the applicable law is that of the flag state of the ship on which the incident occurred. In legal terms, the Turkish ship was Turkish territory.
There are therefore two clear legal possibilities.
Possibility one is that the Israeli commandos were acting on behalf of the government of Israel in killing the activists on the ships. In that case Israel is in a position of war with Turkey, and the act falls under international jurisdiction as a war crime.
Possibility two is that, if the killings were not authorised Israeli military action, they were acts of murder under Turkish jurisdiction. If Israel does not consider itself in a position of war with Turkey, then it must hand over the commandos involved for trial in Turkey under Turkish law.
In brief, if Israel and Turkey are not at war, then it is Turkish law which is applicable to what happened on the ship. It is for Turkey, not Israel, to carry out any inquiry or investigation into events and to initiate any prosecutions. Israel is obliged to hand over indicted personnel for prosecution.”
In either case the Israelis are obligated to turn over the murderers for trial. As there is no hope the Jews will comply (remember that international law does not apply to Jews), we’ll likely have to wait for the end of the shitty little country to see justice done (and a lot of other justice awaits that rapidly approaching end).

Yes, there is a central bank in every country. A quick google search shows the one in Israel is in Jerusalem with a branch office in Tel Aviv.
According to Joan Veon’s book, “The United Nations’ Global Straight Jacket,” the central banks (private corporation) is controlled by the same group of banks and individuals who own the Banks of England, France, Italy, Germany, Canada, Japan, Russia, etc., and they all own some of every country’s currency. They are consequently more powerful than presidents or prime minister in Europe because they can bring a country to it’s knees simply by devaluing their currencies.
Joan goes on to say because all of the world’s countries have borrowed money from these private corporations called central banks, they are beholden to them.
FYI: All central banks report to the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), which until recently was mentioned rarely in the news. It operates in great obscurity in Basle, Switzerland. It has even great power than the Federal Reserve. It is considered the “central banks bank.” Veon says that over the years it has amassed greater and greater control over more aspects of the global monetary system just like the Federal Reserve.

I don’t think they’re doing any live feed on the Rachael Corrie journey. I heard Rivero say earlier this evening they are being a bit more coy concerning their whereabouts and their route. I think they are doing some kind of criss cross path to throw Israel off. They’ve also shut off their tracking device (or whatever it’s called) so Israel can’t pick them up on radar. I believe there was talk they would perhaps go to Egypt since they have opened up the borders, at least for now, to the Gaza folks.

The media, as usual, seems to be reporting only one side of the Israeli Flotilla incident. Don’t trust the mainstream media to give you both sides of a story fairly… you must seek out fair reporting to ensure you have all the information.
As far too many in the media, and in various governments, rush to condemn Israel, we must put the recent events off Israel’s coast into the right perspective. This “relief” convoy was not about humanitarian aid, as the liberal mainstream media keeps reporting. The whole operation was designed to provoke Israel, not to provide supplies to Palestinians held hostage by Hamas terrorists in Gaza. Anyone who sees the video of Israeli commandos being attacked as they land on that ship knows the people aboard were vicious thugs, not “peace activists.” The media insults our intelligence with their outright mischaracterization of who these enemies are.
Israel delivers thousands of tons of humanitarian supplies every week to Gaza. These ships could have offloaded their cargoes at a nearby Israeli port if they really wanted to help the people of Gaza. Instead, they chose to incite confrontation and violence. Israel has a right to prevent arms shipments to Gaza that will be used to target innocent Israelis, so they were legitimately checking the cargo on the flotilla. Turkey has chosen to condemn Israel but we should be asking some serious questions about Turkey’s role in this whole affair. Why is a fellow member of NATO sponsoring such a dangerous publicity stunt? As one expert points out: “Three ships of that six-ship pro-terror convoy flew Turkish flags and were crowded with Turkish citizens. The Ankara government — led by Islamists these days — sponsored the “aid” operation in a move to position itself as the new champion of the Palestinians. And Turkish decision-makers knew Israel would have to react — and were waiting to exploit the inevitable clash. The provocation was as cynical as it was carefully orchestrated.”
We can only hope the Obama Administration does not join the anti-Israel chorus in the aftermath of this staged confrontation. Please, Mr. President, we need to let Israelis know we stand with them in their fight against terrorists and those who arm and support them. America and her ally, Israel, stand by waiting for your response.

News Alert: American citizen was among those killed in Israeli raid of Turkish aid ship

JERUSALEM – An American citizen of Turkish origin was among the nine Turks killed in a botched Israeli effort to stop a Turkish aid ship from reaching the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip, a Turkish official said on Thursday.
“It’s a Turkish origin, American citizen. We know that,’’ the official said by phone from Turkey, adding that more details were not yet available.
The nine bodies were flown home from Israel to Turkey, along with hundreds of activists, aboard a Turkish plane yesterday. Israel was not able to identify the bodies because the dead had no identification on them, Israeli officials said.
The killing of nine Turks has created enormous tensions in the relationship between Israel and Turkey.
Israel has come under widespread criticism following the operation, aimed at maintaining a blockade of Gaza. Israel accused the Turkish contingent of being part of a radical Islamic movement and showed video of passengers attacking naval commandos as they landed on board.

WMR has learned additional details concerning the DC “play condo.” Well-informed sources report the condo in question was actually owned by Connecticut Democratic Representative Rosa DeLauro. She is married to Democratic pollster and strategist Stan Greenberg. Greenberg’s firm, Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research, counts BP as one of its largest clients. Greenberg’s business partners are James Carville and Bob Shrum. Carville has been appearing on CNN commenting on the BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, another indication of the massive conflicts-of-interest of CNN in objectively covering news stories.
Although Greenberg and DeLauro are close friends of Rahm Emanuel, WMR has been told the “play condo” was “wired” and that there exists video and audio evidence of trysts not only involving Emanuel but also those engaged in by then-US Senator Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton, who both stopped the condo on separate occasions for “extracurricular activities.”

Biden’s ardent support for Israel at a time when almost every nation on the planet has condemned the barbaric Israeli actions in murdering peace activists, some at point blank range, may not be so odd when considering that like President Obama and his chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, Biden may have his own sexual blackmail problems.
On August 23, 2008, WMR reported: “Now that Biden is Obama’s Veep pick, there is another nagging issue for Biden. There was a curious item in “The Hotline” from May 3, 2005, regarding an interview Gannon gave to Vanity Fair. “Gannon ‘appears to have met Karl Rove only once’; for all ‘his purported inside ties, he broke almost no stories.’ He ‘scarcely’ knew Ari Fleischer, and ‘apart from sending Scott McClellan a card when he got married, had little personal contact with him.’ Nor did ‘he have some sort of extra-curricular relationship’ with Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE), ‘though he’d suggested as much on his Web site.’”
Gannon has mentioned to this editor that he has known Biden for a number of years going back to Gannon’s days in Wilmington. Are there additional skeletons in Biden’s closet?” Gannon said that then-Senator Biden often went out of his way to say hello to him when he saw him in the Senate. There was a clear indication that Gannon had a prior relationship with Biden in Wilmington.

Went to hear Congressman Paul Ryan at a listening session tonight. What a let down. I could smell the stench of DC about him. He has a “roadmap” for fiscal responsibility that doesn’t change a thing about the federal reserve and the debt hold it has over our country.
A man spoke up about Israel and the flotilla, gave some history about Zionist abuses. He was well spoken, and you could see some people in the crowd getting mad and anxious…Ryan even asked him to make his point. He ended by talking about the billions we are sending each year to Israel.

DR. ALAN SABROSKY: ISRAEL SAYS NO, THE US AGREES: Time Time for the World to Get Serious

So the predictable dynamics are unfolding. Anywhere the US does not have a veto, Israel is being condemned for its latest atrocities and for its illegal blockade on Gaza. Israel as usual has its puppets in the US Congress and the US mainstream media coming to its defense. And Israel has rejected demands from the UN, plus all of the major powers (except, of course, the US) to lift the blockade and stand aside.
But this crisis does not seem to be going away. An awful lot of people are still mad, and more are becoming enraged as the days pass. Fraudulent videos from Israel may be treated as fact in the US media, but as far as I can tell, nowhere else. (This is the same scenario with the facts about 9/11)
Israel still depends on the US to stop anything tangible from happening to it. The US government still depends on its weight to make that happen.
The practical matter is what to do in the next few days. The MV Rachel Corrie is coming into Israel’s target zone soon, and at least one of the other sidelined vessel…
The Israelis will undoubtedly intercept them, as they have said they would. They have no choice. Like thugs defending their ill-gotten gains, they have to do that, because once their illegal blockade is penetrated, it is gone for good. They are truly caught on a dilemma of their own making: if they let any ships through, the blockade ends, and if they attack another, the ability of the US to protect them from sanctions or worse becomes increasingly problematical….
So my suggestion. Let the organizers of the flotilla wait until a Turkish-flagged ship can join the Rachel Corrie, and a US-flagged ship as well. If Erdogan is true to his word — and unlike American politicians, I believe he will be — there’ll be at least one Turkish warship with them. Give the Israelis the choice of attacking a US-flagged ship among others, or letting all of them through.
Try hard to get another warship from anywhere, and at the very least, have the people on the US-flagged ship be in telephonic contact with the US 6th Fleet as they approach the point of Israeli interception. Forty-odd years ago, a US fleet stood aside at the orders of then-President Johnson as Israelis attacked a US Navy ship and killed or wounded over 200 US sailors and Marines.
Not even Obama can be sure the US Navy will stand aside again and let that happen to another US-flagged ship, especially an unarmed vessel carrying civilians and humanitarian aid. Unlike politicians — and many admirals and generals — most of the US Navy and Marine Corps have never been for sale. It would give the Israelis a much-needed and long-overdue lesson.

Just a minor emergency last night, but it could have been huge.
I was peering out the blinds of the bedroom window just as I was going to bed to see why the pesky motion light was staying on. Usually the raccoons, who come every evening to clean out the pecan shells, trigger it. Not a coon in sight, though.
I happened to notice these “sparkling” lights in the distance and couldn’t figure out what they were. We put our street clothes back on and headed out the back door to have a closer look. Well…the 100 year old Pecan tree in my neighbor’s backyard – which backs/butts up to our drive – was flickering and smoldering.
We couldn’t get the neighbors to answer the door, so we called the fire department who called the power company. Seems the power lines running through that tree were touching and thus arching (sp?) Evidently there was enough moisture on the leaves of the tree from the recent downpour to conduct electricity between the two lines that were touching. So, at 1:00 a.m. the power company was parked in our driveway with their guy in the cherry picker trimming the neighbor’s tree. We finally got in bed sometime after 3:00 a.m.
I think I may have to find a blog site on the other side of the globe for these late nights I’ve been keeping. LOL
Still draggin a bit, probably because I haven’t had enough coffee.

June 4-6, 2010 — Blagojevich trial threatens to bring down key Obama advisers
With the trial of ex-Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich now underway in Chicago, there is word that White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and close Barack and Michelle Obama friend and adviser Valerie Jarrett have been subpoenaed by Blagojevich’s defense team.
WMR has previously covered the embarassing details that may arise for Obama if Emanuel takes the stand, however, Jarrett’s testimony also represents a potential political mine field for Obama.
US Attorney for Northern Illinois Patrick J. Fitzgerald, a cover-up artist for the four administrations that have signed his pay check — Bush 41, Clinton, Bush 43, and Obama — will attempt to focus the trial on Blagojevich and argue that anything presented in testimony not dealing with Blagojevich’s alleged crimes is “ancillary” and not pertinent to the trial. However, Blagojevich’s defense lawyers know that Obama, Jarrett, and Emanuel are only one degree of separation away from dubious real estate deals and illegal influence-peddling activities.
Jarrett, who was born in Shiraz, Iran to American parents, is a virtual “smoking gun” of dirty political deals in Chicago, according to informed political sources WMR spoke to in Chicago. Jarrett’s mother, Barbara Taylor Bowman, is a co-founder of the Erickson Institute of Chicago. WMR was told that there are questionable links between the non-profit Erickson Institute, a child development organization; the real estate firm The Habitat Company (owned by Daniel Levin, the cousin of Michigan Democratic Senator Carl Levin and House Ways and Means Chairman Sander Levin) where Jarrett served as CEO, and the Alter Group, a major construction company.
Erickson moved from modest accommodations at 420 North Wabash Street in Chicago to a luxurious 75000 square feet business condominium at 451 North LaSalle. The deal was financed by the Alter Group, led by Michael Alter, who is also part-owner of the neocon and staunchly pro-Israel magazine The New Republic, which Emanuel has said is “required reading in the White House.”
Habitat is one of Chicago’s major real estate owners and while she was CEO for the company, Jarrett pulled in a whopping $800,000 a year salary. Prior to her Habitat job, Jarrett served in the Mayor Richard Daley administration as Commissioner of the Department of Planning and Development.
When President Obama flew off to Copenhagen last year in an attempt to wrest the 2016 Summer Olympics for Chicago, Habitat, which received massive subsidies from the scandal-tainted federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), stood to make billions of dollars from the sale of Habitat-owned formerly public lands and former industrial tracts in Chicago’s southside to the Chicago Olympic committee. However, Chicago lost out to Rio de Janeiro and the Chicago land speculators, who included Jarrett and the Obamas, did not see their windfall.
Jarrett is also reportedly closely linked to convicted and jailed former Obama political donor Tony Rezko. Rezko has also been subpoenaed by Blagojevich’s defense team. It was Rezko who financed the real estate “flip” that enabled the Obamas to obtain a $500,000 mortgage for their home in swanky Hyde Park in south Chicago. It was the failed Broadway Bank of current Illinois U.S. Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias’s family that helped finance the Obama’s mortgage. Giannoulias, a “pick up” basketball chum of Obama, was reportedly a favorite of Obama to succeed him in the US Senate after Jarrett withdrew her name.
First Lady Michelle Obama could also likely be drawn into the Illinois political scandals unhatching with the Blagojevich trial. WMR has learned that while she worked for the firm Ernst and Young as an attorney, Mrs. Obama voluntarily surrendered her law license during a hearing before a state court. However, the record of the voluntary surrender of the law license has been sealed by the Illinois Attorney Disciplinary Board. WMR has been told that Mrs. Obama may have affixed her signature on a fraudulent real estate document in a deal possibly involving her friend Valerie Jarrett’s Chicago real estate ventures.

The fire department said the tree would have continued to smolder for a few days, as opposed to going up in flames right away. All I know is if it had been fall/winter, that would have been the perfect set up for a major disaster. Fire dept concurred. My neighborhood and yard is pretty much a massive pecan grove.

I saw that about the rioting and “O” delaying his trip. I immediately thought the same thing as you did. This situation is bigger than I believe most Americans know. One photo I saw had the name of our country with Israel’s name and they were protesting against the terrorism committed by both countries.
Frankly, I’m starting to be more than a little worried that our name is synonymous with theirs. Especially as I dig into the history of that state and their early leaders – known terrorists.

BREAKING NEWS (9:44 p.m. Central): ISRAEL FORCES APPROACH THE RACHEL CORRIE
Activists on board the Gaza-bound Irish ship the Rachel Corrie have told Press TV that Israeli forces are approaching the ship and its radio and satellite signals have been jammed.
Israel and the US told the Rachel Corrie to sail to the Israeli port of Ashdod and unload, but the activists on board have rejected the demand, saying one of the aims of their mission is to break the illegal blockade of Gaza.
The Rachel Corrie had been scheduled to arrive in the Gaza Strip on Saturday.
Ashraf Shannon, the Press TV correspondent in Gaza, said late on Friday night that the Israeli navy had jammed the radio and satellite signals of the ship. “And for eight hours now, we have not heard anything from the ship,” he added.
Israel has threatened that they will not allow the ship, which is due in a few hours, to dock at the port of Gaza, he stated.
On board the Rachel Corrie are a group of Irish and Malaysian peace activists, including a Nobel laureate and a former UN official from Ireland.
The ship is carrying medicines, especially for cancer patients, since they cannot leave the country for treatment and is also carrying construction materials, paper, and other supplies.
After the attack on the Freedom Flotilla on May 31, Egypt opened up the Rafah crossing for a controlled number of people.
However, only a handful of people, like patients who are travelling for medical treatment to another country, are allowed to cross the border, the Press TV correspondent in Gaza reported.
He went on to say that the iron barriers Egypt has been constructing on the Gaza border are almost finished.
There were once around 1,500 tunnels through which people brought food, medicine, and fuel into the Gaza Strip, but now, due to the iron barriers, there are only 200 tunnels, he added.

BREAKING NEWS: THE RACHAEL CORRIE SHIP SIEZED BY ISRAELI FORCES
The Israeli Navy has seized a new Gaza-bound aid ship Rachel Corrie following its earlier attack on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, according to activists.
Activists on board the Irish ship said on Saturday that their ship was intercepted, Reuters reported.
Israeli forces boarded the ship some 55 km (35 miles) out in the Mediterranean, said a spokeswoman for the campaign group supporting the ship.
The new ship, scheduled to arrive in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, was aimed to break the three-year-long blockade of the coastal sliver.
The Rachel Corrie is carrying some 750 tons of aid including medical and school supplies, and 15 people including Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mairead Maguire and former UN assistant secretary general Denis Halliday.
The ship is named after Rachel Corrie, a US activist killed in 2003 as she tried to prevent an Israeli military bulldozer from razing a Palestinian home in Rafah.

Looks like the Rachael Corrie is steaming on toward Gaza and ignoring the warnings of the Israelis. The Israelis have jammed all the communications on the ship and have violently threatened the activists if they don’t redirect to Ashdod. (this was as of 37 min ago on Twitter) Looks like Reuters & Jerusalem Post are the ones saying that Israel had seized the ship. As of an hour ago, the JP said that appeared to be premature. Ya think?

Israeli forces have threatened to board a new Gaza-bound international aid ship if it does not reroute to the southern Israeli port of Ashdod.
An Israeli military spokeswoman, Avital Leibowitz, told reporters that the troops were ready to confront the Rachel Corrie ship.
“Our soldiers will board you if you refuse to change course… We are ready to use force to defend ourselves,” AFP quoted the Israeli official as saying on Saturday.
The warning came after the Rachel Corrie did not take notice of Israeli military calls to redirect to the Israeli port of Ashdod.
Israeli officials had earlier warned activists on the Irish ship not to set sail for the Gaza Strip.
However, the activists insisted on the humanitarian nature of their mission, saying that they were determined to break the three-year-long blockade of the coastal region and deliver 1,000 tons of supplies to the impoverished Gazans.
UPDATE: Looks like now, from all sources, that the Rachael Corrie was seized – without violence this time – BUT IN INTERNATIONAL WATERS again and is now being towed to Ashdod. The IDF came on board from their boats, no dropping from helicopters this time. Three Israeli Navy ships tailed the R/C for sometime before moving in. No other details yet available.

Don’t know if one could say without a doubt they threw 17 overboard, but certainly 17 are unaccounted for. Eye witnesses claim they saw bodies being thrown overboard. How many that is, we may never know.
The more I read about the history of the so called leaders of Israel – both prior to Israel becoming a state and beginning with David Ben-Gurion who was Israel’s first Prime Minister – terrorism seems to be second nature to these vial men. This isn’t new behavior to them.

“Activist Idris Simsek, who was on board one of the six ships of the Freedom Flotilla during the Israeli attack, claims that four wounded activists were thrown into the sea.
The Israeli troops also put immense psychological pressure on the activists of the Freedom Flotilla, the Turkish daily Today’s Zaman quoted Simsek as saying in an article published on Saturday.
Simsek said they expected some harassment from the Israeli forces but did not expect an armed attack.
He went on to say that he witnessed that the person who waived the white flag to surrender was shot by the Israeli troops.
Erol Demir, another activist who was on the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara, said there is film footage of the chaos and the carnage on the ship and stated that the footage will show the real face of the Israeli military to the entire world.
“They even shot those who surrendered. Many of our friends saw this. They told me that there were handcuffed people who were shot,” he added.

The Israeli military attacked the Freedom Flotilla in international waters in the Mediterranean Sea early on May 31, killing nine Turkish citizens on board the six ships and injuring about 50 other people.
The fate of three other Freedom Flotilla activists is still unknown.
Israel also arrested nearly 700 activists from 42 countries on board the ships of the Freedom Flotilla, which was attempting to break the siege of Gaza in order to deliver 10,000 tons of humanitarian assistance to the long-suffering people of the territory.”

(Sun June 6th, 1.45pm) The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign has just recieved word that the five Irish prisoners from the MV Rachel Corrie, which was hijacked yesterday by Israeli forces, are due to arrive in Dublin airport at 11.20am tomorrow morning.
There will be a welcoming committee to meet them and press conference to follow at 3pm in The Central Hotel, Exchequer Street, Dulin 2. Included among the five returning are Mairead Maguire, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Ireland and Denis Halliday, former UN Assistant Secretary General, Ireland

CALIFORNIA REP. SHERMAN: PROSECUTE U.S. CITIZENS INVOLVED WITH GAZA FLOTILLA – This is disgusting to think this man would even entertain this action. Guess we Americans will be treated the same way as the folks in Gaza.
Yeah, and, never mind that an American born citizen fell victim to the massacre and that there are people in Gaza in dire need of the world’s assistance, living in what amounts to be a little more than a refugee camp. Easy to see who lines this politician’s pockets.
